Program Outline

 

Podiatric medicine and surgical clinical rotation competencies have been designed to cover a broad spectrum of podiatric care which ensures a consistent and equitable clinical education for the residents.  The rotations are designed to give the resident in the Residency Program experiences and responsibility in the management of patients and recognition and understanding of clinical entities (this will have reference particularly to the field of foot surgery, but will also refer to all related medical and surgical areas).

The residents will be given an educational program on the postgraduate level which will emphasize the basic and clinical sciences. Instruction will be provided primarily by the medical, surgical, and podiatric staff of Womack Army Medical Center. Rotations Schedules are Subject To Change.

                All residents are required to receive a satisfactory/passing rating on all resident evaluations in all clinical rotations, as determined by the attending faculty members. This will be based on individual expectations, standards, or service agreements with respect to each rotation. All residents are required to be present and on time for all call and clinic assignments, barring call related patient care, operating room obligations or outside rotation responsibility/accountability or military obligations and places of duty. In the event of illness or emergency, refer to the sick call policy for guidance.

Surgical Subspecialty: Orthopedic Surgery
Surgical Subspecialty: Plastic Surgery
Surgical Subspecialty: Vascular Surgery

(20 total rotations, minimum requirement: 11)
