The objective of the Metals Division is to enhance the international competitiveness of U.S. industry through, inter alia, improved access to overseas markets. The Metals Division actively pursues this goal by seeking to reduce barriers to trade through participation in international negotiations and fora, and directly supports U.S. industry by providing trade leads for firms, and promoting U.S. companies and international trade exhibitions. The Metals Division also assumes a very active role in several multilateral environmental agreements.
