Alternatives in Animal Research

Description:

Alternatives in Animal Research is intended to guide researchers to resources that help address reduction, refinement, and replacement (the 3 R’s) of animal use. Resources covered include databases available through the NIH Library Web site such as MEDLINE, AGRICOLA, PsycINFO, and Web of Science. In the class, you will be introduced to a checklist for planning searches for alternatives to painful procedures and to several methods for creating a research update service. Attendees will also learn the advantages of working with Library staff to perform mediated searches in databases available through DIALOG, a fee-based resource.
