 1. What kinds of jobs are in demand at GSA?

GSA is looking for contract specialists, realty professionals, program and project managers, financial managers, Human Resource Specialists, and other occupations that support our mission.

 2. What if I need help applying?

Contact the Human Resources Specialist listed on the vacancy announcement. He/she can help you with the application process. However, you MUST contact the Human Resources Specialist for assistance before the closing date of the announcement. (Sending an email to GSAjobs@gsa.gov is not sufficient. You must contact the Human Resources Specialist for assistance.)

 3. How do I apply for a Senior Executive Service (SES) or Wage Grade position?

Vacancy announcements for Senior Executive Service (SES) and Wage Grade positions are posted in USAJOBS, however, applicants do not apply online for these positions. Instead, applicants apply for these positions using the traditional paper method. It is important to read the entire GSA vacancy announcement to verify which method is being used and the application procedures required.

 4. Why are job postings for Senior Executive Service and Wage Grade positions listed in USAJOBS if I can't file an application through USAJOBS?

The USAJOBS system is used to publicize all of GSA's vacancies, regardless of the application process. This allows all of our vacancy announcements to be viewed at one location.

 5. I applied for a job. How can I find out the status of my application?

You can view the status of your application online. Go to the USAJOBS site, enter your login information, click “Application Status”.  A screen will appear that lists the vacancy announcements for which you have submitted an application and displays the status of each.

 6. What if I have more questions about the status of my application?

Contact the Human Resources Specialist whose name was listed as the point of contact on the vacancy announcement. If you do not know the name of the Human Resources Specialist log in to your USAJOBS account and go to "Application Status."  Locate the vacancy and click on the position title to view a copy of  the original vacancy announcement.
