Definitions for Services Offered

Free HIV Test (Free)

Organizations that provide free HIV antibody testing services.


Conventional HIV Blood Test (CVBL)

A blood sample is drawn from a vein to check for the presence of antibodies to HIV. Depending on the testing site, results are generally available within two weeks.


Conventional HIV Oral Test (CVOR)

An oral fluid sample is collected by swabbing the gums to check for the presence of antibodies to HIV. Depending on the testing site, results are generally available within 1 to 2 weeks.


Rapid HIV Blood Test (RPBL)

A sample of blood is collected by fingerstick or by drawing blood from a vein to check for the presence of antibodies to HIV. Rapid tests are screening tests that produce results in 20 minutes or less. A reactive rapid test must be confirmed with a follow-up confirmatory test before any final diagnosis can be made.

An oral fluid sample is collected by swabbing the gums to check for the presence of antibodies to HIV. The oral rapid test is a screening test that produces results in 20 minutes or less. A reactive rapid test must be confirmed with a follow-up confirmatory test before any final diagnosis can be made.


STD Test (STD)

Organizations that provide STD testing services in general. Most locations can test for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Contact the organization directly to learn which specific STD tests are offered at that location.


Chlamydia (CHYM)

Organizations that provide Chlamydia testing.


Gonorrhea (GONR)

Organizations that provide Gonorrhea testing.


Syphilis (SYPH)

Organizations that provide Syphilis testing.


Herpes (HERP)

Organizations that provide Herpes testing.


Hepatitis B Vaccine (HBV)

Organizations that provide Hepatitis B Vaccine services.


HPV Vaccine (HPV)

Organizations that provide HPV Vaccine services.
