Advancing Cancer Research Through Biospecimen Science
March 28-29, 2011

A group of seven individuals at the BRN Symposium.

The 2011 BRN Symposium, held in Bethesda, Md., attracted more than 362 attendees and 90 webcast participants. The symposium featured leading experts on biospecimen science, including:

  • George Poste, Chief Scientist, Complex Adaptive Systems Initiative and Professor of Health Innovation, Arizona State University
  • Thomas Malone, Vice President, Transformation, College of American Pathologists
  • Carolyn Compton, Director, Office of Biorepositories and Biospecimen Research, National Cancer Institute
  • Jennifer Hunt, Associate Pathologist and Associate Chief for Quality and Safety, Massachusetts General Hospital; Associate Professor of Pathology, Harvard Medical School

Attendees engaged in interactive discussions, presentations and workshops on biospecimen quality and recent advances in biospecimen science.
