CTEP plans and coordinates all aspects of clinical trials, including extramural clinical research programs, internal resources, treatment methods and effectiveness, and compilation of data pertaining to the development and evaluation of anticancer agents. The Common Toxicity Criteria is an effort to provide standard language for reporting adverse events that occur in cancer clinical trials sponsored by NCI.
