Patrick Sheehan is the Director of the Compliance Division in Software Engineering's Standards & Compliance Service within the Office of Enterprise Development. He also serves as VA's Section 508 Coordinator, representing CIO Roger Baker in all matters that deal with Section 508 conformance within the VA, including interpreting the 508 requirements and how they will be implemented enterprise wide. To do this work Patrick relies heavily on a staff of VA employees and contractors who consistently produce excellent 508 validation services and assist with outreach and education to VA PM's and stakeholders.
Jacqueline Washington serves as the Section 508 Program Manager and COTR for VA’s Section 508 Enablement Initiative. She plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and monitors day-to-day activities in the three functional areas of the program. She ensures that the program continues to meet the Section 508 legislative mandate, the Secretary’s strategic goal and objective as it relates to the program, as well as meeting the customers’ needs. Ms. Washington also serves as Contracting Officer Technical Representative for VA’s Section 508 Enablement Initiative developing the SOW, leading the technical evaluation efforts, exercising the options of the contract, processing invoices and conducting the final performance reviews of the contractors ensuring accountability for performance of their assignments.
The Test Manager oversees test engineers who analyze and test E-products, E-learning courses, COTS products and VA-developed software applications for Section 508 conformance received via VA’s PC Hardware and Software contract (SEWP IV), the IT Tracking System, through in-house and commercial developers and from customers who experience problems accessing E-applications.
Operates and manages the Section 508 Testing and Training Center, ensuring the Test Center environment is configured to accommodate testing COTS products, software applications and hardware with current versions of accessibility testing tools such as screen readers, screen enlargers and refreshable Braille tools.
The Webmaster maintains and updates the section 508 websites. The Webmaster ensures that information posted to the Intranet and Internet websites are in compliance with the policies and regulations in accordance to the VA Handbook 6102.
