March 10-12, 2013

Please join us at the National Tornado Summit in Oklahoma City for a series of workshop breakout sessions focused on hazardous weather information-sharing, and discussions on the effective transmission of messages about meteorological risk.

This event will mark a significant change in how the National Severe Weather Workshop is conducted. However, the content and focus of the presentations will continue to be geared toward emergency managers, weather enthusiasts, teachers, students, meteorologists, broadcasters, and those representing the insurance industry. NOAA and its partners in the local AMS/NWA Chapter and the Oklahoma Emergency Management Association are continuing to work together to develop the agenda for the 2013 National Severe Weather Workshop at the National Tornado Summit. Our successful workshops of the past are an indication of a outstanding working relationship and one we hope to expand upon by becoming a sponsor and supporter of the 2013 National Tornado Summit.

A preliminary agenda is now available on this website as well as the National Tornado Summit website. We will be providing up to six hours of content with speakers from the National Weather Service, Large Venue Association, as well as Emergency Management and Weather Research Communities.

Questions about the workshop agenda can be directed to Greg Carbin and Jared Guyer at the NWS Storm Prediction Center or Rick Smith at the NWS Norman/Oklahoma City Weather Forecast Office. Registration for the workshop should be made through the National Tornado Summit webpage.
