DARPA-PA-11-52: Cyber Fast Track (CFT), Response Date 4/1/2013

This Research Announcement (RA) seeks to revolutionize cyber technologies by promoting non-traditional technical opportunities. The Cyber Fast Track (CFT) program will engage numerous cyber related efforts across the spectrum of computer and network operations (CNO) to demonstrate that cyber efforts can be accomplished rapidly and cost effectively. This effort intends to extend the existing performer base to include non-standard, cutting edge organizations and individuals throughout the cyber community, thereby strengthening the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Cyber Security capabilities. One goal of this program is to demonstrate the ability for cyber projects to be performed at an asymmetric advantage in time, cost, and contribution of the efforts in comparison to more traditional applied research areas. This will apply to both performance of individual efforts and to the contracting required to engage performers in said efforts.

DARPA-BAA-13-11: Vetting Commodity IT Software and Firmware (VET), Response Date 2/12/2013

DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals concerning techniques and tools for demonstrating the absence of backdoors and other hidden malicious functionality in the software and firmware shipped on commodity Information Technology (IT) devices. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.

DARPA-SN-12-50: Computer Network Operations Research and Development, Response Date 09/04/2013

Computer network operations (CNO) research and development (R&D) projects require specialized knowledge, skills, and experience. Often, these projects are classified and can only be solicited from a limited number of sources. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) must maintain up-to-date knowledge about potential performers to maximize the number of sources that can be solicited for classified, highly specialized, CNO R&D initiatives. DARPA seeks information regarding such potential performers. Ideally, respondents will include both potential performers currently holding security clearances and those who may be granted clearances based on technical capabilities and eligibility.

  • Microsystems Technology Office Solicitations

    DARPA-BAA-12-64: Microsystems Technology Office-wide, Response Date 9/1/2014

DARPA-BAA-13-21: ICECool Applications (ICECool Apps), Response Date 3/22/2013

ICECool is exploring disruptive thermal technologies that will mitigate thermal limitations on the operation of military electronic systems, while significantly reducing size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP). The specific goal of ICECool Applications is to enhance the performance of RF power amplifiers and embedded computing systems through the application of chip-level heat removal with kW-level heat flux and heat density with thermal control of local submillimeter hot spots, while maintaining these components in their commonly-accepted temperature range by judicious combination of intra- and/or interchip microfluidic cooling and on-chip thermal interconnects. See the full DARPA-BAA-13-21 document attached.
