Driving Directions

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) headquarters is based at the Defense Threat Reduction Center (DTRC), located at 8725 John J. Kingman Rd. on the campus of the McNamara Headquarters Complex at Fort Belvoir, Va. (View the location on Google Maps). Access to the McNamara Headquarters Complex is restricted; all visitors must verify appointments with the security guards before entering the complex. Please see the Visitor Information section for more details. Additional DTRA facilities are located throughout the National Capital Region.

From the North:

1. I-95 S to Exit 166A (Fairfax Co. Pwky (7100))
2. Left at 4th traffic light, John Kingman Rd.
3. Right at 2nd traffic light into HQ Complex Gate 1

From the South:

1. I-95 N to Exit 166A (Fairfax Co. Pwky (7100))
2. At the end of exit ramp turn right Left at 4th traffic light, John Kingman Rd.
3. Right at 2nd traffic light into HQ Complex Gate 1

HQ complex security will direct visitors to the designated parking area which is on your left as you drive into the complex.

Please do not park in a reserved or numbered space unless you've been assigned a specific parking slot. There are two connected buildings on the McNamara Headquarters Complex. The larger building contains the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and other offices.

The smaller building, at the left end of the DLA building, is the DTRC. After parking in the visitors parking area, walk across the parking lot to the front door of the DTRC. Then come inside to the Visitors Control desk where your escort will meet you.

It is essential that only the following addresses be used for U.S. mail via the U. S. Postal Service to any DTRA office within the National Capital Region (NCR). The official mailing address is:

NOTE: All other previously used address for DTRA offices in the NCR (mail or material) are invalid. The forwarding period for mail (US Postal Service) has expired. Mail addressed to those addresses is returned to sender by the US Postal Service and can no longer be forwarded.

Incoming Commercial Express or Ground Shipments (i.e. Federal Express, DHL, UPS) and all other materials acquired through any acquisition action, i.e. procurements, contract actions, and Government Purchase Card purchases) must be addressed to:
