This site provides information on grants issued by SAMHSA for mental health and substance abuse services by State. The summaries include grants issued by SAMHSA for the Federal Emergency Management Administration to provide crisis counseling in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma and for the Office of National Drug Control Policy for Drug Free Communities.

The dollar amounts for the grants should not be used for SAMHSA budgetary purposes.

The funds listed for the formula grants are the amounts provided to the States in fiscal year 2012. The amounts for discretionary grants are those awarded at the close of fiscal year 2012 and are currently being used in the States for services. Discretionary grants with fiscal year 2013 dollars when appropriated will be made throughout the fiscal year.
