Youth Development & 4-H

International Youth Development Programming

The 4-H youth development model has been replicated in over 80 countries around the world. These programs operate independently, as there is no international 4-H organization. However, through international exchanges, global education programs, and communications, they share a common bond.

4-H and International Positive Youth Development Programs

While the 4-H program — its name, emblem and brand — is authorized for enriching the lives of America’s youth, much of the experience gained over the years by Cooperative Extension youth development leaders is relevant to those around the world who want to organize programs for promoting positive development of their young citizens.
