Current Program Activities (August 2012)

State and local agencies can use funds received under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) for Operations projects, as long as they meet the obligation and funding requirements of the statute. Furthermore, planning to invest in Operations may help to relieve congestion resulting from work on other ARRA transportation projects. What is FHWA Doing to Support 21^st Century Operations Using 21^st Century Technologies?

On July 6, 2012, President Obama signed a new transportation authorization bill into law, the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21). This new law funds surface transportation programs at over $105 billion for fiscal years (FY) 2013 and 2014. FHWA has established a web site to provide resources and the latest information on MAP-21: http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/map21/.

Provides information about the tolling and pricing programs and provisions available under the FEDERAL-AID HIGHWAY PROGRAM (Title 23 of the United States Code), following enactment of SAFETEA-LU, and to invite Expressions of Interest from States and/or other public entities.
