The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) serves as an independent body to deter, identify and address fraud, abuse, mismanagement, and waste in DHS programs and operations.


The Office of Inspector General is comprised of seven distinct program offices with varied responsibilities: Office of Audits, Office of Counsel, Office of Emergency Management Oversight (EMO), Office of Inspections, Office of Investigations, Office of IT Audits, and Office of Management.  Please visit the individual program office pages within OIG to learn more about their specific mission.
