Clinical Care Guidelines/Protocols

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issues a series of guidelines to help doctors treat people with HIV in the United States. HRSA has developed complementary clinical protocols and practices that provide detailed information on the effective delivery of HIV care. The Guidelines and Protocols/Practices are outlined below.

HHS Clinical Guidelines

Clinical guidelines outline the science and recommendations for treatment of HIV disease (e.g., antiretroviral therapy, opportunistic infection treatment and prophylaxis) as well as guidelines for conducting HIV testing and counseling. Clinical Protocols and Practices
