Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI) – Janitorial & Sanitation Supplies

Welcome to the Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI) – Janitorial & Sanitation (JanSan) Supplies community. As one of the new FSSI efforts launched in 2013, the Janitorial & Sanitation strategic sourcing solution will include supplies such as bleach, trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, mops, and floor buffers. (excluding services)

The purpose of this site is to collaborate with you, our Industry Partners, on how we can build a strategic sourcing solution for JanSan supplies and equipment that will:

● Leverage the federal government spend to drive savings;

● Collect the right data at the right level of granularity to drive operational efficiencies and allow for better management decisions; and

● Increase adoption of best practices to improve efficiency.

The Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI) was established by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in the May 20, 2005, Implementing Strategic Sourcing memo. OMB reinforced the Government’s commitment to strategic sourcing in their December 5, 2012 Improving Acquisition through Strategic Sourcing memo. To date, FSSI counts more than 20 federal agencies, both military and civilian, as active participants.
