Establish encrypted VPN tunnels with the Cisco VPN Client for highly secure remote connectivity for mobile employees or teleworkers.
If you have problems installing the VPN client, try using the Uninstall instructions for your operating system. These instructions can be found on the same web page -- look for the Uninstall Guide heading and click on the link for your operating system. If, after following the steps in the Uninstall Guide, you are still not able to connect to VPN or the VPN client will not install, please contact the NIH Service Desk at: 301-496-4357 (local) or 866-319-4357 (toll free) or submit a service request via the web at: http://itservicedesk.nih.gov/support.

A PDF file with official Cisco documentation is included inside the vpnclient directory. This is expected to be the last release of the non-x86 version of the Linux VPN Client. The non-x86 version supports platforms that do not have the GLIBC_2.2 and libstdc++.so.5 (such as versions prior to RedHat 9 and SuSe 9). It does NOT support SMP (multiprocessor) kernels in any release of the VPN Client. A readme.txt file is also included with more information.

The client operates on both 32-bit i386 and biarch x86_64 operating systems. On i386 32-bit operating systems, this release is not considered a Beta.This VPN Client now requires GLIBC_2.2 and libstdc++.so.5. Distributions like RedHat 9 and SuSe 9 comply with these requirements. A readme.txt file is also included with more information.

The VPN Client for Solaris runs on any UltraSPARC computer running a 32-bit or 64-bit Solaris kernel OS Version 2.6 or later. This release officially supports Solaris 10.
