Dr. Platz is a cancer epidemiologist, whose research on prostate and colon cancers sits at the interface between epidemiology and basic science.

Learning Objective

  1. To learn the evidence for epidemiologic associations of obesity and its sequelae, hormones and inflammation, with prostate cancer.
  2. To describe possible etiologic models underlying these complex, inter-related associations.
  3. To discuss Methodologic issues needing to be addressed to be able to move forward with testing these obesity-related hypotheses.
