DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT ON POLYVINYL CHLORIDE LIQUOR BOTTLES

Proprietors of Distilled Spirits Plants, Manufacturers of Liquor Bottles, Importers, Wholesale Liquor Dealers and Others Concerned:

Notice is hereby given that the draft environmental impact statement concerning the use of polyvinyl chloride liquor bottles has been prepared as required by section 102(2)(C) of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. The environmental statement discusses the environmental impact of the proposed approval of polyvinyl chloride plastic as a suitable material for use in the manufacture of liquor bottles.

The draft environmental statement is being placed for public examination in the reading rooms of the National Office and Regional Offices of the Internal Revenue Service and the Main Treasury Library reading room, Washington, D.C. Interested persons may obtain copies of the statement for $3.00 each from the National Technical Information Service (NTIS), U.S. Department of Commerce, Springfield, Virginia 22151. This statement has been assigned the Accession Number PB-206-561-D. The accession number should be used when ordering the statement from NTIS.
