PROPOSAL TO ESTABLISH NIAGARA ESCARPMENT
VITICULTURAL AREA

Washington, D.C. - The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) issued a notice of proposed rulemaking in the Federal Register proposing the establish the Niagara Escarpment viticultural area in Niagara County, New York. TTB designates viticultural areas to allow bottlers to better describe the origin of wines and to allow consumers to better identify the wines they may purchase.

Written comments on this proposed addition to our regulations must be received on or before April 11, 2005.
