Governor Kathleen Sebelius proclaimed January 29, Go Local Kansas Day as that state joined Montana, which connected earlier in the month, to become the latest Go Local participant on NLM’s MedlinePlus.
Go Local makes it easier and simpler to find health care services close to home. Visitors to the site can search for resources by location, by facility type or service, or by a specific disease or condition. Go Local features information about local hospitals, physicians, nursing homes, support groups, health screening providers and more.
The NLM partners with libraries to support Go Local. Currently there are more than 30 Go Local participants with almost a dozen others in development.
