No sooner had Haiti’s January 12 earthquake subsided than the NLM Specialized Information Services' Disaster Information Management Resource Center began creating a Web site of disaster-related health information to aid in the recovery. The Health Resources for Haiti page features Haitian Creole and French-language materials and provides links to government and non-governmental relief agencies and organizations involved in the relief effort, while offering comprehensive information about earthquakes and subsequent health issues, such as public health assessments, emergency surgical care, management of dead bodies, stress and coping issues, and response and recovery guidelines.
