The purpose of this policy statement is to describe how the Administrative Resource Center handles information which we learn about you when you visit our website. You are not required to give us personal information to visit our website.

For site management, information is collected for statistical purposes. Computer software programs are used to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas. No information subject to the Privacy Act, such as name and address, is collected or used for this analysis. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration Guidance.

Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits.

We do not enable "cookies." A "cookie" is a text file placed on your hard drive by a website that can be used to monitor your use of the site.

If you visit our site to read or download information, we collect and store only the following information about you: the name of the domain from which you access the Internet; the date and time you access our site; and the Internet address of the web site from which you linked directly to our site. We will not obtain personally identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you voluntarily choose to provide such information to us by e-mail, by completing a comment form, forum registration site, or other online form. The Department of the Treasury does not give, sell or transfer personal information to third parties, unless required by law, such as the Freedom of Information Act.

Generally, individuals are strongly discouraged from sending any personal information, like a social security number, to the Treasury webmaster or any Treasury e-mail address. It may be necessary on certain bureau web sites to collect personally identifiable information (name, e-mail address, social security number, or other unique identifier), but only if specifically and knowingly provided by you. Personally identifying information you provide will be used only for such other purposes as are described at the point of collection by the bureau asking for the information.
