Library of Integrated Network-Based Cellular Signatures (LINCS)

Program Snapshot

The Common Fund’s Library of Integrated Network-based Cellular Signatures (LINCS) program aims to develop a “library” of molecular signatures that describes how different types of cells respond to a variety of perturbing agents. Phase 1 of the program is underway and focuses on the following activities:

  • Large-scale production of perturbation-induced molecular and cellular signatures
  • Creation of a database, common data standards and public user interface for accessing the data
  • Computational tool development and integrative data analyses
  • Development of new cost-effective, molecular and cellular phenotypic assays
  • Integration of existing datasets into LINCS

Overcoming Obstacles to Analyzing Complex Biological Data

Researchers supported through the Common Fund’s LINCS program are developing new adaptable approaches to store, analyze and extend complex biomedical data sets. The approach may someday prove useful for preclinical studies.

NEW! Announcing LINCS Data Forum 2013, to be held March 20-21 at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

This free two-day workshop will include presentations, discussions, and tutorials on LINCS science, data resources, and software tools. Participants will be encouraged to provide feedback on the LINCS tools. The meeting will also be webcast for participants outside the Boston area. ACCESS THE LINCS PORTAL The LINCS portal is a source of information for the research community and general public about the LINCS project.  The portal contains details about the assays, cell types, and perturbagens currently part of the library, as well as links to participating sites, the data releases from the sites, and software that can be used for analyzing the data (http://lincsproject.org/).
