Prior to the current Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium there were two  previously funded initiatives, the Clinical Proteomic Technologies for Cancer initiative and the Mouse Proteomic Technologies Initiative. These initiatives focused on addressing many of the technical barriers associated with clinical proteomics research.
