Limitations of the SEER-MHOS Linked Data Set

The SEER-MHOS data do not include the following:

• SEER cancer patients who did not complete at least one MHOS survey;
• Medicare beneficiaries in a fee-for- service program;
• Medicare claims or prescription drug information;
• Chemotherapy treatment;
• Cancer recurrences;
• Medicare managed care beneficiaries not included in a MHOS cohort;
• Outcome results for years other than cohorts 1 - 8, 1998-2007; and
• Non-responders to a MHOS survey.
