National Cancer Institute GIS Tools

The National Cancer Institute has developed and funded several tools to aid the analysis and visualization of geographic data. Tools that are currently available for free download include:

  • Tools for ArcMap – a series of plug-ins for ArcMap™ software, part of the Esri ArcGIS Desktop suite
  • Linked Micromaps – a graphing program that allows users to compare statistics across geographic regions and time
  • Health Disparities Calculator (HD*Calc) – statistical software designed to evaluate and monitor health disparities
  • SaTScan – software that analyzes spatial, temporal, and space-time data using spatial, temporal, or space-time scan statistics
