Federal Tax Application

Overview

The Federal Tax Application provides a same-day federal tax payment mechanism for business tax filers and payroll processors via their financial institutions. The Federal Tax Application works in conjunction with the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS).

Same-Day Payment Worksheet: To help make a same-day tax payment, take the Same-Day Payment Worksheet to a financial institution. Note: Call the financial institution first to learn whether they can send the payment, what its cutoff time is for initiating the payment, and what fees might be associated with the payment.
