Figure 4.7 is a bar graph that shows percentages of past month illicit drug, binge alcohol, and heavy alcohol use among past month smokers and nonsmokers aged 12 or older in 2002. Any illicit drug use was 19.5 among past month smokers and 4.4 percent among nonsmokers. Binge alcohol use was 43.1 percent among smokers and 15.8 percent among nonsmokers, and heavy alcohol use was 15.9 percent among smokers and 3.5 percent among nonsmokers.
