Jana Eisenstein
Jana Eisenstein is a Research Associate in the Office of the Associate Director of the Applied Research Program. Ms. Eisenstein completed her Master's degree in Public Health Microbiology & Emerging Infectious Diseases from the George Washington University, after which she spent time working in virology and microbiology labs in Boston-area hospitals. Most recently her interests shifted her out of the lab, and she spent the last year and a half working as a research assistant at a private public health research institution in Atlanta, GA. There she worked on a variety of projects, including the development of Web-based games to supplement the National Institute on Drug Abuse Brain Power curriculum and a Phase I program to train promotores de salud to work with Latino children coping with cancer. Her main project was the Phase II development and evaluation of a multimedia toolkit designed to help parents and teachers of children with cochlear implants facilitate the successful transition of these children into mainstream classrooms. The toolkit consists of print guides, educational DVDs, and an interactive Web site. Ms. Eisenstein will be supporting a number of ARP researchers on projects such as PRO-CTCAE, AYA HOPE, SPARCCS, and IPAQ.
