    •  Best of luck to Schofield Barracks Health Clinic's Sgt. Justin Funyan and Sgt. Robert Edwards as they compete against 62 other Soldiers from across the Army in Army Medicine's grueling, continuous 72-hour, Best Medic Competition. The two-person team competition started today and will continue through Sunday at Camp Bullis, Texas. The competitors are participating in a physical fitness challenge, an obstacle course, pistol and rifle stress shoots, an urban assault course, combat medic lanes and a challenging advanced land navigation through the Camp Bullis rugged terrain, mass casualty scenarios and a litter obstacle course. The competition will test the team's agility and physical strength. Follow their progress at www.facebook.com/ArmyBestMedicCompetition.

  4. Congratulations to Team Kenner AHC for being selected as the runners-up in the 2012 Best MTF Competition held this week at Ft Sam Houston. For their efforts to improve processes and increase efficiencies, they were presented a check for $500k to go toward their facility. Job well done!

    LTG Horoho said, "This is science and it is real." She asked the audience to take a moment to notice how their bodies reacted to several video clips that were shown. These clips were very powerful accounts of stressful scenarios. After the video clips were shown, LTG Horoho said, "You just experienced physical and psychological responses to a traumatic event. Are these feelings real? I think all of us realize they are."
    She added, "Today we recognize and validate those feelings. It is Army Medicine's job to make psychological health real and to help our service members and families heal."
    LTG Horoho also spoke on the Army Medicine 2020 Strategy which focuses on engaging patients in their "lifespace" to enable health and resilience.
