What is Disability.gov?

Disability.gov (www.disability.gov) is the federal government website for disability-related information on programs and services in communities nationwide. Visitors can connect to thousands of resources from federal, state and local government agencies, academic institutions and nonprofit organizations. New resources are added daily across 10 main subject areas – Benefits, Civil Rights, Community Life, Education, Emergency Preparedness, Employment, Health, Housing, Technology and Transportation.

Who Visits Disability.gov?

The site offers helpful information for people with disabilities, their families and caregivers, service providers, educators, employers and many others.

How Can Visitors Interact on Disability.gov?

Visitors can interact on Disability.gov through the site’s social media and personalization tools. They can follow daily tweets on Twitter, connect with fans on Facebook or read weekly guest blogs from subject matter experts on Disability.Blog (http://blog.disability.gov). The site also offers the ability to sign up for email alerts, subscribe to the Disability Connection newsletter, bookmark and share information and suggest resources. In addition, visitors who register for a personal account can vote and comment on resources, as well as join groups to participate in discussions with other members who have similar interests.
