Catherine (Cathy) Mitrano was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in July 2008, as Deputy Assistant Secretary, Army Review Boards. She is responsible for the Army Review Boards Agency which serves as the highest administrative level of review of personnel actions taken by lower levels of command in the Army. The Army Review Boards Agency consists of 15 Army personnel boards which include the Army Board for Correction of Military Records, the Army Discharge Review Board, the Army Special Review Boards, the Army Grade Determination Review Board, and the Army Clemency and Parole Board; and provides oversight of the Army's Law Enforcement and Corrections missions. These Boards make final administrative determination on correction of military records, discharge or separation, grade determinations, physical disability appeals, conscientious objector status, and clemency and parole. The Army Review Boards Agency is also the Department of Defense executive agent for records corrections, discharge reviews, and clemency and parole. The Army Review Boards Agency consists of 151 civilian employees and military personnel, and adjudicated over 29,000 cases in FY11.
