CAHPS

NOTE: The contract that supports the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) program expired on June 27, 2012. This will result in a delay in updating the data that compose the CAHPS Database for the SECOND HALF OF CALENDAR YEAR 2012. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality is now working to award a new CAHPS contract, and when it is in place, the benchmarking database will be updated with the latest data available, including data collected in 2012.

Changes regarding the CAHPS Web site

The Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) User Network contract develops content for the CAHPS Web site, responds to requests for technical assistance, and performs numerous other dissemination tasks for CAHPS products. The contract expired June 27, 2012. The new procurement is under way.
In the interim, there will be a significant reduction in new material on the CAHPS Web site. We will post a limited amount of content about CAHPS surveys and their administration. The complete Web site will be back in operation as soon as possible.

Although the Web site is temporarily changing, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ’s) support for CAHPS has not changed. AHRQ is in the process of awarding two CAHPS 4 cooperative agreements, with a performance period of 2012 through 2017. AHRQ will continue to offer technical assistance regarding the use of CAHPS products. The telephone numbers and e-mail address boxes for technical assistance remain the same:

CAHPS 301-427-1017
Send E-mail to: CAHPS Technical Assistance

We appreciate your patience during this interim period and thank you for your continuing support of CAHPS.

Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) surveys ask consumers and patients to report on and evaluate their experiences with health care.
