Budget Staff
The NIFA Budget Staff is the direct
agency link to the federal budget process,
which supports the agency's mission. NIFA
receives federal funds, which it awards
to universities, other institutions, and
individuals for research, education, and
extension activities.
Budget staff are responsible for the three
interrelated phases of the budget process:
- Formulation of the agency's segment
of the President's Budget Request
- Monitoring Congressional action on
the budget
- Execution of the agency's appropriated
budget to support programs
