The Outcomes Research Branch periodically sponsors workshops on topics related to outcomes research and methods development.

• Health Outcomes Methodology Symposium - This meeting addressed advances in the measurement of patient health outcomes such as health-related quality of life.
• Applying Item Response Theory (IRT) to Enhance Health Outcomes Assessment - This international conference examined the added-value of using modern measurement methodologies to improve the measurement of patient-reported outcomes (PROs).
• Patient Reported Outcomes Assessment in Cancer Trials: Evaluating and Enhancing the Payoff to Decision Making - This conference examined the application of HRQOL in trials.
