Pulitzer Prize Winner David Hume Kennerly Speaks at Nixon Library January 28

January 16, 2008—Pulitzer Prize winner David Hume Kennerly will speak about his career covering the Vietnam War and American presidents and sign copies of his new book, Extraordinary Circumstances, at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum at 4 p.m. on January 28.

With an introduction by Tom Brokaw, Extraordinary Circumstances is a stunning collection of behind-closed-doors images of President and Mrs. Ford, as well as other history-making figures, such as Queen Elizabeth, Richard Nixon, George Harrison, Andy Warhol, Leonid Brezhnev, Deng Xiaoping, Anwar Sadat, Yitzhak Rabin, and Emperor Hirohito.

Kennerly won the Pulitzer Prize in 1972 for his coverage of the Vietnam War. He was official White House photographer for President Gerald Ford from 1974 through 1977. His photos have been featured in Time and Newsweek and on ABC’s Good Morning America.

The event is free to all. The Nixon Library requests that those wishing to attend reserve seats by calling 714-983-9120 or emailing nixon@nara.gov. Kennerly is available for interviews by contacting 714-983-9119.
