Join the NIH for the USA Science and Engineering Festival Expo, April 28-29, 2012, in DC!
On April 28-29, 2012, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will provide interactive and fun science activities for kids of all ages, joining hundreds of science and engineering organizations from across the country in a 2-day Expo at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. All events are free and open to the public. The NIH will present various topics, including activities related to the brain, clinical research, healthy living, and biomedical science careers.
This will be the second USA Science and Engineering Festival, and will be even bigger and better than the first, with a multitude of activities including a book fair, career pavilion, and live stage shows by science celebrities. The purpose is to stimulate interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), inspiring the next generation to enter these exciting fields.

As part of the NIH effort, staff from across the National Eye Institute (NEI) will participate by providing eye and vision-related activities. At NEI’s booth, "More than Meets the Eye," presenters will engage visitors in activities focused on eye structure and function, visual processing, simulations of eye diseases, and optical illusions.
