I-698, Application to Adjust Status from Temporary to Permanent Resident (Under Section 245A of the INA)

This form is used to apply for adjustment to permanent resident status under the amnesty program provisions of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA).

Note on Expiration: USCIS continues to accept the 01/12/11 edition of Form I-698 available here (as well as the 11/23/10 and 12/29/09 editions) despite the passing of the form's expiration date. An updated form will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

Filing Fee :
$1,020, regardless of when filed. (An $85 per applicant fee for biometrics may be required - unless under 14 years of age or older than 79 years of age.)

Additional Information:  HIV Testing:  Starting January 4, 2010, an individual should no longer be tested for HIV infection for purposes of the immigration medical examination.  74 Fed. Reg 56547 (Nov 2, 2009).  Please disregard any reference in Form I-698 and its instructions to HIV on or after January 4, 2010.
