Quiz: Should I Risk It?

Taking smart risks and being adventurous are important for learning and encouraging independence in young children. Some children are natural risk-takers and some children have to be persuaded to take a chance or try something new. Parents and other caregivers help their children grow by introducing them to new activities while ensuring a reasonable amount of physical safety.

The act of taking a safe risk gives children information about themselves, including teaching them about their own___________.
