CR640 - Advanced CRIS Training

Description:

    CRIS-Sunrise (also known as Sunrise Clinical Manager or SCM) is the Clinical Research Information System used by the NIH Clinical Center and Institute staff for entering orders, viewing results, and documenting patient care. This optional class purpose is to enhance competence & proficiency in using CRIS through reinforcing current skills as well as facilitating the ability to use more complex functions/features of CRIS. This course will provide training through instructor led didactic; computer based training modules, as well as hands on practice. Concepts and skills will build on those learned in CRIS core training. This session will include a core set of advanced concepts and optional topic modules. Core content include use of and customization of filters, creating personalized patient lists, printing, & the Signature Manager. Optional topics such as printer mapping in citrix, reprinting order requisitions, acronym expansion tips, copy forward functionality will be covered.

Objectives:

    Upon completion of the Introduction course, the user will be able to:
  • Demonstrate the ability to independently set filters on orders or results tab given a specific clinical scenario.
  • Define a preference filter.
  • Demonstrate ability to create a document review preference filter.
  • Demonstrate ability to create an order entry preference filter.
  • Define a criteria based patient list.
  • Demonstrate ability to create a criteria based patient list.
  • Demonstrate ability to customize the patient list column configuration.
  • Demonstrate ability to independently set filters in Signature Manager given a clinical scenario.
  • Demonstrate the use of filters in order to print results.

    Class Prerequisite

  • Required: Current and active CRIS account.
  • Recommended: Attendees have been using the CRIS system for at least 3 months prior to enrolling in the class.
