WiTS Super User Groups
User groups are vitally important to the design, maintenance, and support of any system. These groups give the project team valuable insight into the needs and habits of the system’s end-users, which helps determine the need for/feasibility of possible modifications as well as any need for additional training and/or enhanced user support. HR SAID’s WiTS Team works in collaboration with two equally important user groups – the WiTS Super Users (SU) and the WiTS Advisory Group (WAG).
Members of the WiTS Super User group serve as liaisons between their Branches/Units and the WITS Team, providing their organizations with updates on system activities and soliciting feedback. These users serve as the first point of contact for staff in troubleshooting and resolving general system issues. WiTS Super Users are the only end-users authorized to submit requests for modifications to certain data in the WiTS databases. They also manage access to WiTS and other HR systems for staff in their organizations.
The WiTS Advisory Group is a small group of advanced WiTS Super Users that works closely with the WiTS Team in the development of workflows, reports and dashboards. WAG members take an active role in development work (conducting research on OPM/HHS/NIH procedures and policy when needed for system development decisions, testing new/enhanced workflows, reports and dashboards before they are released, etc.). The group also provides input on recommendations to OHR management in determining HR policy related to the use of WiTS.
