Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) administers refugee assistance and admission programs that provide vital protections to vulnerable populations world-wide.

PRM provides overseas assistance to regions across the globe, including areas such as West Africa/Liberia and Europe/Caucasus to support Humanitarian Air Service and feedings for displaced persons.

Education and Cultural Affairs (ECA) improves international relations by promoting better mutual understanding among the peoples of the world. Programs such as the Fulbright Student Program, Fulbright Senior Scholar Program, Fulbright Teacher and Administrator Program, U.S. Institutes and American Studies Institutes and H.H. Humphrey Fellowship Program are just some examples.

Professional Development Program is an example for Indian and Pakistani Teachers to introduce participants to current U.S. best practices for teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL).

Bureau of Democracy Human Rights and Labor (DRL)’s Human Rights and Democracy Fund (HRDF), which is DRL’s allocation of the Economic Support Fund, is used to fulfill the mission to monitor and promote human rights and democracy worldwide. HRDF supports innovative programming designed to uphold democratic principles, support democratic institutions, promote human rights, and build civil societies in countries and regions of the world that are geo-strategically critical to the U.S.

Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) funding goes directly to partners such as non-governmental organizations, businesses, and universities. Since 2002, MEPI has set in motion more than 350 programs in 16 countries and the Palestinian territories through its offices in Washington, Tunis, and Abu Dhabi. MEPI investments are in addition to billions of dollars in bilateral assistance the U.S. provides annually to the Middle East.

Trafficking in Persons (G/TIP)
grants provide assistance to foreign countries and international organizations to help them develop and implement legislation, policies, and programs to combat trafficking in persons, including the areas of sex and labor exploitation.

G/TIP programs in support of Venezuelan NGO Women’s Association for Well-Being and Reciprocal Assistance(AMBAR) to fight trafficking in persons.

Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR)  Title VIII programs for study of Eastern Europe and the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union strengthen U.S. expertise and understanding on subject states by supporting graduate training, advanced research, public dissemination of research data, methods and findings, contact and collaboration among government and private industry specialists.

Overseas Schools (OPR) provide grants to schools abroad to enable them to promote quality education at elementary and secondary school levels for dependents of U.S. citizens carrying out programs for the U.S. government abroad.

Programs that support the implementation of Advancement Placement (AP) programs to American-sponsored Overseas schools.

Political and Military Affairs Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PM/WRA) demining and weapons destruction grants assist countries in making safe daily life after conflict resolution possible.

International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) grants assist countries to develop and implement policies and program to strengthen institutional counter-narcotics law enforcement and judicial capabilities to control illegal narcotics production, processing and trafficking.

Supporting Iraqi Constitutional Implementation by fostering   Iraqi Legislative and Judicial Program aimed at strengthening   the new Iraqi constitution.

Diplomatic Security (DS) provides training and facilities in anti-terrorism for foreign police officers through cooperative agreements.

DS training programs in support of antiterrorism is directed towards selected foreign  government and police officials.

Economic and Business Affairs/International Comunications and Info Policy EB/CIP provides telecom leadership by building the capacity of regulatory and technical institutions in developing countries.

EB programs in support of Nationwide Wireless System Training in the US for senior technical officials from the Meteorological Services that focus on developing nationwide wireless communication systems.
