Risk Management Planning Education - 2011

The Financial Institutions Reform and Recovery Act of 1989 (FIRREA) mandated that the FFIEC provide examiners and financial institutions with risk management planning training in response to concern about the quality of risk management practices in insured financial institutions.

During 2002, the FFIEC decided to enhance its industry education efforts by providing electronic delivery of current risk management endeavors. This allows us to provide more in-depth information on new FFIEC regulations and risk management guidance on specific topics, as well as to increase market penetration by making the information available to more bankers on a cost-effective basis.

Examples of that effort include the following:

FFIEC Financial Privacy InfoBase

FFIEC Information Technology Examination Handbook InfoBase

FFIEC Check 21 InfoBase

BSA/AML InfoBase

In addition, this FFIEC Web site will provide information on the individual agencies' outreach efforts in risk management education.

When the FFIEC member agencies have provided information concerning their participation in industry programs on risk management topics scheduled for 2011, it will be posted here.
