Elizabeth Moore Aubin, a career senior Foreign Service Officer, became the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Algiers on September 28, 2011.  Before coming to Algiers, she was the Director for Human Resources for the joint Executive Office of the Bureaus of Near Eastern Affairs and South and Central Asian Affairs.  Previously,  she served as the Management Counselor for Embassy Tel Aviv, as a Special Assistant to the Under Secretary for Management (2004-2006); as a Post Management Officer in the Western Hemisphere Affairs Bureau (1999-2001); as well as two tours in the Executive Secretariat; as a Watch Officer and a Line Officer (1995-1998).  Overseas, she has served as the International Resource Management Officer for USNATO in Brussels (2006-2007), Management Officer at the Consulate General in Toronto (2001-2004) and as a General Services Officer at the Consulate General in Hong Kong (1998-1999).  Her two entry level tours were as an Economic Officer at Embassy Rome (1993-1995) and as a Consular Officer at the Consulate General in Curacao (1990-1992).  Elizabeth has a B.A. in Political Science from Barnard College, 1987.  She speaks French and Italian.  She is married to Daniel J. Aubin.
