ArticleDescription
The Close Out Funded Grant models illustrate the grants business processes used when a grant has expired and is not eligible for renewal. The models are organized into three states:
- As-Is: The models in this section are current state business processes.
- To-Be: The models in this section are the desired future state business processes.
- Transition Plan: The models in this section specify the business processes necessary to transition from current state to future state.
Each section contains a WHAT model and a HOW model. The WHAT model lists the business activities that must occur in order for the NIH to review a grant application. The WHAT model is presented in a hierarchical format in which the children support the parent activities. The HOW model integrates all dimensions (What, Which, Who, Where, When) into a single comprehensive model that captures the sequence of the activities, the dependencies between the activities, and the flow of information from one activity to another.
