TOWAIR (or Landing Slope Facility Calculator) allows antenna structure owners to determine whether their structures are close enough to an airport or heliport to require an aeronautical study by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and registration with the FCC. Under Part 17 of the FCC's Rules, the owner of an antenna structure that exceeds an imaginary line (i.e. "slope") that runs outward and upward from the nearest point of the nearest runway of an FAA-listed airport or heliport must obtain an FAA study and FCC registration for that structure. For example, TOWAIR may be queried based on a specific set of coordinates, elevation, and overall height criteria to calculate whether an antenna structure under 60.9 meters (200 feet) will penetrate the slope for nearby airports.
TOWAIR requires the submission of coordinates referenced in the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83).
Tribes and historic preservation officers can ask to be notified by the FCC when a third party voluntarily provides notification of plans to erect a tower within a certain area. Please go to Tower Construction Notificaton for more detailed information.
Before using ASR, you must first register with the FCC's Commission Registration System (CORES) to receive an FCC Registration Number (FRN). Click the Register button on the ASR Home page to access CORES for your FRN. Follow the onscreen prompts and instructions, providing the password information requested by CORES. CORES will present you with a confirmation page. We recommend printing this page for your records— you will need to use your FRN and password to apply for and manage licenses within ULS and register antenna structures within ASR. Under the heading, "To continue on to another FCC Filing system," choose the ASR link to return to ASR.
Once you have completed your registration, use the Log In button on the ASR Home page to associate ASR numbers with your FRN. To update your CORES registration at any time, click on the Register button on the ULS Home page or the ASR Home page.
All Antenna Structures that meet the registration criteria must be registered with the FCC. This requirement is in addition to the requirement that you notify the FAA and obtain an FAA determination of "no hazard." Receipt of an FAA determination does not mean that a structure is registered with the FCC. All ASR applications use FCC Form 854. You may either file electronically, or via paper application (pdf) . We strongly recommend electronic filing versus paper filing. Electronic filing results in quicker processing, provides on-line edit checks, and, in many cases, is able to grant an application immediately.

Antenna Structure Registration Search allows you to search for all ASRs filed with the FCC by filling in one or more than one of the fields on the current search Screen. You may search by Identification information, Structure information, Owner and Contact Information, or Dates.
