The Communications Engineering Branch at the Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications, an intramural R&D division of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), a part of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland has exceptional opportunities for research, design and development in biomedical information systems and technologies. We are seeking qualified people, preferably with advanced degrees or substantive experience, in electrical engineering, computer science and engineering, applied mathematics and allied disciplines.

We are interested in applicants for Post-doctoral fellowships, summer internships, or students for year-round part time and full time employment. Salary levels will be commensurate with the applicant's seniority and experience. U.S. Citizenship requirements vary by position. Enquire for details.

Applicants must demonstrate knowledge and experience in state of the art tools or areas such as: software development tools (including, but not limited to, MATLAB, Java, C/C++, Ruby on Rails, .NET, XML, Perl), content-based image retrieval, biomedical image processing, computer vision, signal processing, document image analysis and understanding.
