Commuting (Journey to Work)

A worker’s travel from home to work. Data are available from the American Community Survey (ACS), Decennial Census (2000 and prior), Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP), and the American Housing Survey (AHS).

Work at Home

Worker’s usage of the home as a workplace. Data are available from the ACS, Decennial Census (2000 and prior) and the SIPP.

Daytime Population

The number of people who are present in an area during normal business hours, including workers. Data are available in the ACS and the Decennial Census (2000 and prior) to calculate these estimates.
